This summer is supposed to be about finding myself
but it has quickly turned into a full-bore effort to suppress my ego and educate myself on my most basic of human rights and needs. I’m on the Pursuit of Happiness and for the first time in a long time, I’m happy. I wake up around 7am every morning and pray, following that I smoke and listen to chill music usually Sublime, 311, Eric Church, Deathcab etc. I then go outside and eat breakfast. When the shadow from the trees next to my tent hit my knees I head to the stream with last nights dishes and yesterdays dirty clothes, as well as 4, 1 gallon jugs to fill with water used for bathing. after all the dishes are done clothes washed and jugs filled, I brush my teeth then head back to camp. I hang my clothes on the clothes line and lay my bathing water on the rocks so that it will get warm with the days sun. from here It depends on my mood and the weather. Its around lunch time so I usually eat and smoke. other days I may go up to the forest for a hike, play guitar by the falls or just sit by the road and smile and wave at the pretty girls who pass me by on the way to the falls. In the evening I cook dinner and then bathe. after my bath I pack a bowl put on my night time clothes (6xl T-shirt, 3xl sweat pants) and then head outside and await the stars. If its cloudy or raining I sit inside and smoke and watch a flick. I’m in bed by 9:30 most nights latest usually 11 on friday or saturday.
That is a run thru of my life in the mountains.
The country is beautiful. Life is beautiful.
Suppress your ego. Give more. Want less. Slow down and see what life has to offer.
